Health Insurance Gender Wars!
Talk about gender wars! In this article, Guardian Life Insurance Company of America reveals a surprising concept: that women may be more apt to lend money to loved ones with medical problems than men.
“Guardian Life Insurance
Company of America, New York, says 55% of women surveyed said they had lent money to friends or family members who were in medical distress. Only 34% of men said they had done so.”
This was done through a telephone survey of 504 men and 511 women ages 18 and above, living in private U.S. households. Shockingly (at least to us) was the fact that a whopping 38% of those surveyed admitted that they did not know the difference between critical illness insurance and disability insurance, and that same percentage said that they couldn’t distinguish the difference between critical illness insurance and medical (health) insurance.
