LifeNet Gets Cookin’: Mom’s Spice Squares
Our sincerest apologies for a lack of posting yesterday. We’ve been busy, but that’s no excuse. Perhaps you’ll forgive us as we give you this peace offering in the form of a delicious recipe, Mom’s Spice Squares. They’ve been a favorite of ours for years and we hope you welcome them into your kitchen too!
What you’ll need:

- 1/2 cup margarine or butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup flour
Frosting:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
What to do:
1. Cream butter (or margarine) and sugar
2. Sift flour with cocoa spices
3. Add egg one at a time to creamed butter and sugar
4. Add flour alternately with water
5. Bake in 9″ square pan at 375 degrees for 20 minutes (or until done)
6. Cut, serve and enjoy!
