Today, we discuss some “Preparing for Tomorrow” tips for life insurance customers.

-Reassess your policy, taking note and alerting your agent of any lifestyle changes such as marital status, children and/or change of job

-Having a good amount of knowledge about your insurance policy and cluing in your family about what it entails

In the event of a death:

-Ask the insurer if any policies cover the deceased aside from the ones that you know about

-Get in touch with the deceased’s employer to ask about any group policies

-Contact the Social Security Administration for any benefits that may be payable

-Check into the deceased’s checkbook as well as bank statements for payments to insurance companies

-Contact the individual’s insurance agent

We hope you won’t be in this situation for a long time, but it’s always good to know where to look.
